KPE Episode 310: "Michael Jones: Awesome"

Erene and Joshua talk rugby in this podcast. And not just any old rugby either.

They talk about one of the greatest All Blacks ever; Michael Jones.

The book they have chosen is a biography and it follows the Ice Man through his outstanding career playing rugby for his clubs, for Auckland and then for New Zealand.

You will be interested to hear some of the things they have learnt about him and some of the lessons thay have learnt from his example.

"Help! I'm Trapped in my Teacher's Body!" by Todd Strasser is podcast by Erene and Kayde from Room 17.

This book is about a kid named Jake Sherman and his teacher, Mr Dirksen. Jake the kid always gets in trouble with his teacher Mr Dirksen because he always messes around in class. One day something happens that changes everything. Mr Dirksen changes into Jake and Jake changes into Mr Dirksen. At first Jake doesn't want to be Mr Dirksen, but after a couple of days he likes it because he can do things that a kid can't do. Mr Dirksen likes to be Jake because he never had a childhood and now he has a chance to be a kid! 
We are sure you will want to read this book when you have listened to their podcast!

KPE Episode 239: "Drum" by Joy Cowley

Erene and Joshua have created a lively podcast to share the latest book they have been reading about a dog called "Drum" and it is written by Joy Cowley. Drum is a stray dog who turns up in a small town and becomes sort of a town pet. The book talks about some of the adventures the kids in the town have with Drum. And our podcasters recommend this story as a good read.

Two Year 5 students, Erene and Joshua from Room 15, bring us this book as their first podcast for KPE. They have joined the
Janice Marriott fan club at Pt England school and tell you about 'The Refugees'. This book has been podcast before by Tanisha and Keletiola so you could listen to their podcast too by clicking here.
The boys give us a lot of detail about what happens when a family is torn apart during a war and the children are left to look after themselves when their parents are taken from them.
They also introduce us to one of their classmates who understands this experience only too well. Have a listen to their podcast and give them some feedback. Maybe you will have some questions for Jephte as well.
