Jonathan and Timoteo are both year 6 students in room 17. Jonathan has shared with Timoteo the details about Sid and the Slimeballs by Phil Cummings
Sid was the school nerd who always got teased at school, One day a girl named Jane approached Sid and handed him a radio and headphones, while he was minding his own business a boy took the radio and headphones off him.
But Sid's luck was about to change... the manager of the rockband Slimeballs which happens to be everyones favourite band discovered Sid and wanted him to perform at school.
After his performance the rest was history!

Isara from room 17 has been reading a novel called Paying it forward by Ann Turnbull, Jonathan who is also from room 17 interviewed Isara to give us a little insight on what this books about.
Two friends Luke and the 'narrator' discover a purse underneath Luke's seat on the bus. Luke opens the purse to see if there is any evidence of whom it might belong to and finds an address inside, which leads them to an empty house, with a very hungry cat eager to be fed!
As they knock on the door there is no answer, Luke finds a key in side the purse and let themselves in to this empty house to feed the cat. Instead they found something else...something they were not expecting!

When a greedy stoat tries to steal one of New Zealand's iconic birds from its nest, on its travel back to its home, he stumbles and the egg lands in a Pukeko nest amongst the other Pukeko eggs.
When a Kiwi hatches he realises that he is very different looking to the rest and doesn't understand why?
He would rather be awake and playing at night whilst the other chicks are fast asleep

On one night the kiwi goes off into the night only to find himself at a house, and is startled to see himself on nearly every piece of furniture inside.
What will happen to this little wee Kiwi...
